Description

Join us on Wednesday, August 7, between 7:00 - 11 a.m. as a volunteer at Owens Community College during Kickoff to Caring. We need volunteers to help unload boxes, restock supplies, load the finished backpacks, and to assist in tear down as the bags are completed.

More About the Backpack Build

Join 1,000 members of the community in making a huge impact in a small amount of time on August 8 from 8-9:30 a.m. at the student health and activities center at Owens Community College. Together, we will pack 5,000+ backpacks with essential school supplies for local students in need across Lucas, Wood and Ottawa counties.

Just $15 will provide a backpack for one student, which will include the tools they need to succeed in school. If you know someone that could use backpacks for their child or children, please have them dial 2-1-1 to be connected to a backpack.

Note: If you registered for the build, but will volunteer instead, we will delete your existing ticket.

For registration assistance, please call 419-254-4667 or email donor.services@unitedwaytoledo.org. Day-of event parking is available at the facility. Dress is casual. Group and company t-shirts are encouraged.
